This dirham was struck in the city of Samarqand in the year 194’ in Arabic). Rev. ‘li-llāh / Muḥammad rasūl Allāh / mimmā amara bihī al-amīr al-Maʾmūn / walī ʿahd al-muslimīn / ʿAbd Allāh ibn amīr al-muʾminīn’ (‘To Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.
